I cultivate my garden, and my garden cultivates me.
Sydenham Garden aims to improve wellbeing through therapeutic activity, enabling people to move forward in a supportive community environment. We offer a range of activities and opportunities for the local community, but our main focus is for those experiencing mental ill health or other significant illness.
We provide therapeutic sessions in horticulture and art and craft for referred co-workers (clients) living in South London with the aim of improving quality of life, social interaction and physical and mental health. We have seen lives transformed through encouragement, reassurance and the structure that a placement with us offers.
Co-workers receive help and support from staff, volunteers and fellow co-workers during their 12 month placement in a gardening, allotment or art & craft group. For co-workers to fully benefit from their placement, regular attendance is needed and our overall aim is for some improvement to take place within this period.
We are currently looking for volunteer support in the garden and with arts and crafts. For more information please click here.
