simple hit counter Sydenham Garden

Welcome to Sydenham Garden

Sydenham Garden is a community project, providing gardening, nature conservation and creative opportunities for the well-being of local residents and in particular those with health problems.

We provide a place where people can gain confidence and self-esteem through work and community. We offer training opportunities in areas of horticulture, conservation and arts & crafts, increasing the skills and future employability of our users.

We use part of a nature reserve to create a community garden and environmentally-friendly resource centre.

Referred patients, known as co-workers, work alongside regular volunteers and trained staff. The centre and nature reserve is for the whole community, but will particularly help those coping with ill health.

Our volunteers and co-workers help in managing the reserve and in planning and planting our garden.

Crafts and plants are also sold to the public.
