Saturday 22nd September – places available. 2 to 3.30pm
Whether you are considering keeping bees and want to know if it is for you, just fascinated in them as creatures or simply looking for something usual and exciting to do this course could be for you. In this one and a half hour workshop we will give you an introduction to the theory and practical sides of bee keeping, get you familiar with the various equipment and finally get you kitted up in protective bee suits to open the hives and see the bees themselves.
The course will be led by our resident bee keeping expert Kev.
Protective beekeeping suits and gloves will be provided but please wear long-sleeved clothing, long trousers, and wellies or sturdy boots. Please do not wear perfume, aftershave or scented hair product, drink alcohol, eat a banana, or work with horses on the day. If you wear reading glasses, please bring them.
As we will be opening the hives we will have to limit the course to five spaces and we expect it to fill up quickly. To book you place please on the 22nd September use the form below. The course costs £20 (£15 for co-workers)
