It was a pleasure to welcome a team from We Worldwide to the Resource Centre on what turned out to be a very rainy day in late September.
Despite the weather, the team worked throughout the day with a fantastic team spirit helping us to clear the area around our clay bread oven making it accessible and usable again. They also designed and built a much needed new wood store for the oven.
As if that wasn’t enough, the team also tackled the massive job of cleaning the greenhouse glazing both inside and outside!
Co-workers, volunteers and staff working returning to the gardens in the following days commented on how bright the greenhouse now feels and have been much impressed with the new woodstore. Everyone is now looking forward to having tea breaks in the area around the bread oven!
Thank you We Worldwide for all your hard work and effort on the day, it’s very much appreciated. It would be great to welcome you back to Sydenham Garden in the future.
Thanks also goes to Conor at Community Southwark who arranged for the team from We Worldwide to join us for the day. Community Southwark have supported Sydenham Garden over several years, arranging numerous corporate teams to work at either at our De Frene Market Garden site or at the Resource Centre as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.
If your company is interested in working with us, you can find details on our Corporate Support page, where you’ll also find details of other ways in which your company could help us to help South London residents who are experiencing mental ill-health or other significant illness.
