Cut flower workshop

Last month we ran a workshop covering everything you need to know to start growing and selling local, sustainable and ethical cut flowers. We covered growing site requirements, which flowers to grow and why, how to turn your crop into a product including flower arranging techniques and finally, routes to market. This was all lead by our fabulous in-house florist Jullen.

We had a beautiful day for it, and were able to use all our own flowers straight from the cutting patch for the demonstrations.

The course was three hours long and included a practical element as well as a classroom based theory section.

Here’s what some of the attendees said –

“Generous and open tutors, sharing their knowledge and advice. Delicious cake too and great to look around study in a truly beautiful and productive space.”

“Lots of tips and insider knowledge.”

“The most useful part of the course was learning from someone who has done the growing and hearing their tips.”

We will be running the course again next year. If you are interest in attending please email david@sydenhamgarden.org.uk and you will receive more details as soon as the course is scheduled.
