OCN Perennial Border Group Fri1

The perennial flower planting started at De Frene last week. Our groups worked on designing a colourful perennial border as part of their OCN qualification in Practical Organic Gardening.

We mixed it up with some colourful Asters, Lupins, Coreopsis & Geum’s just to name a few. We also planted some cat mint to please the local cat community!

Our Thursday group made great progress planting native shrubs such a wild prunus & rowan around our border fences aswell as clearing and tidying the entrance area.

Individual paintings representing colours of the sky, foliage and flowers visible on site were placed together to create a large scale collage. The end result was very impressive and will make a great feature in our greenhouse for all to enjoy.
