In memory of Cleveland, who was keen supporter of Sydenham Garden for many years, we want to share with our friends and supporters an important campaign the RNIB have recently set up. They are calling upon the UK Government and Network Rail to make railway stations safe for all blind and partially sighted people by installing tactile paving and making stations accessible to all.
According to the Rail Accident Investigation Branch, between 9 – 15% of people falling onto tracks are blind or partially sighted.
The RNIB’s aim is to get 15,000 signatures and as of this afternoon they have just over 12,400.
