Sessions Suspended

All normal sessions at Sydenham Garden will be suspended until early July, due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation.

Our team continues to work remotely – supporting our co-workers in different ways, as well as collaborating with community partners in Lewisham to get help to the most vulnerable in the borough.

We are still accepting referrals through our online form here, but please be aware that names will be placed on a waiting list and we may take a short while to respond.

For all other queries you can contact us in the usual way, using our contact details below.

    Dear Sydenham Gardeners,

I’m part of your co-worker alumni.
    I’m currently in lockdown.
I’ve purchased herb plants from my local supermarket ie chillies, parsley, basil, mint to ensure my balcony & kitchen has both useful & pleasant plants to look at.
    I’ve become vegan.

I’m finding it difficult to lockdown, whilst aiming to only supermarket shop once a month (given he heightened risk of infection) I’m having to bin at least £10 worth of rotten vegetables.

To recycle the rotten veg, I think I should mulch them with old herb planets. In addition, I need to freeze vegetables after I’ve planned meals for a fortnight.

Do you understand my aims to be eco-friendly in the kitchen & balcony? If so, please can you give me some training & guidance as to how I go about creating a function home so as to not need to leave my home more than once a month or fortnight?
