Sydenham Garden Resource Centre awarded a coveted Green Flag Award as it is officially recognised as one of the country’s best parks / green spaces.
In another record-breaking year Sydenham Garden Resource Centre is raising its prestigious Green Flag Award.
Today, Sydenham Garden Resource Centre is celebrating after receiving a Green Flag Community Award, which recognises quality sites managed by voluntary and community groups.
Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Award Scheme Manager Paul Todd MBE said:
“I would like to congratulate everyone involved at Sydenham Garden in achieving a Green Flag Award.”
“Sydenham Garden is a vital green space for the community in London, bringing people together and providing opportunities to lead healthy lifestyles. The staff and volunteers do so much to ensure that it maintains the high standards of the Green Flag Award, and everyone involved should feel extremely proud of their achievement.”
Beth, Sydenham Garden’s Director, goes on to note:
“To be awarded a Green Flag Community Award for 2023/24, one of just 50 in the London area, from Keep Britain Tidy is a fantastic achievement for Sydenham Garden. The award highlights the year-round effort that goes into maintaining the gardens and nature reserve to such a high standard made by co-workers, volunteers, friends, and staff alike – huge thanks to all involved”.
The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
