A crisp, beautiful, if a little chilly, festive event
On Saturday 25th November our Winter Fair once again provided some festive and chilly delights. The team had been busy preparing for months, and it didn’t disappoint. More than 300 people came through the door and over £2,500 was raised to help support our future work. A fantastic and much-appreciated result!
Always a focus at our events is the food. The cakes, pancakes, mulled juice and BBQ did not disappoint. A quite tantalising range of cakes was on display. Many crowd-pleasing favourites were gobbled up, including the now famous Roweena’s coffee & walnut. Outside volunteers braved the cold to serve up hot dogs, halloumi burgers, chocolate pancakes and mulled juice. There was plenty to warm the cockles. As ever, our fair trade filter coffee also went down a treat.
Other highlights included bulb potting, a table decorating craft and a plant sale. There was also an array of stalls selling produce made and packaged in our sessions by our co-workers (beneficiaries).
Thank you and coming soon
A really big thank you to the army of volunteers who made this event so special. All money raised from our events goes back into the charity which helps to support local people recovering from mental and physical ill health. The dates are already in for next years events.
