Our most successful Winter Fair so far!
The cold, damp weather didn’t put off over 330 visitors coming to our annual Winter Fair who generously spent over £3700 on the various stalls and activities. This will be the most we’ve raised at a Winter Fair. All proceeds help us support local people attending our projects in their recovery from mental and physical ill health.
Popular (as ever) were the chilli and hotdogs along with pancakes for sale in the meadow, alongside the new chutney and marmalade stall. The tombola / mystery jar stall was such a hit with kids and adults alike it sold out in record time! Thanks to people’s kindness and generosity, items donated for the raffle and present stall were amazing. We even had a secret auction for a limited edition print by the artist Rob Ryan, which raised over £100.
In the weeks running up to the fair, our projects were busy making and baking a truly fantastic range of items to sell. With some left over, we now have a small pop-up shop in the lobby at the Resource Centre! On the day, we had a team of over 40 volunteers, including many co-workers, help set up, run stalls and activities as well as making copious quantities of tea & coffee!!.
Thank you to everyone who came along, made, baked, donated, helped set up, ran a stall / activity. Without such dedication our fairs would not be the success they are. Fantastic work everyone.
We hope to see you all at the Resource Centre for our Spring Fair on 2 May 2020.
