Julia Brandreth

Chair of Trustees

Julia is a local resident and an experienced trustee. She is currently a market trader in Greenwich, specialising in vintage goods and also volunteers for local organisations. She was previously Head of Communications at the National Union of Teachers, with prior roles in TUC affiliates and as a community organiser.

Graeme Thomson

VICE Chair & Company Secretary

Graeme has lived locally for almost 40 years and has a keen interest in gardening & mental well-being. He has been a director of public and private companies worldwide for over 30 years as Chief Executive, Finance Director, Company Secretary and as a Non-Executive.

Kehinde Adeogun

VICE CHAIR

Kehinde has lived locally for over 35 years. She has been involved as a trustee for a number of Black and LGBT+ charities in the past and is currently employed part time as a solicitor for a trade union.

Laura Reynolds

VICE CHAIR

Laura has worked in Youth and Community work for over 15 years, running programmes in Waterloo for young people, adults and older people.  She has experience working with the community across a range of themes including art, heritage, and gardening.  She lives locally with her family.  

Jon Sherman

Treasurer

Jon is a Director in the Civil Service, with many years’ experience in senior leadership and policy roles. Jon has lived in Sydenham with his family for over 20 years.

Sir Steve Bullock

Trustee

Steve was the elected Mayor of Lewisham for 16 years before retiring in 2018. He now works part time as the chair of a housing organisation in South West London and supports local groups through his work as a Deputy Lieutenant.

Jullen Gordon

Trustee

Jullen has been a local resident for many decades and is a former co-worker and current volunteer at the Garden. Having had a varied career, she has been a manager working for people with disabilities to access funding and work opportunities over recent years. She is also a very keen gardener.

Arthur Ngoka

Trustee

Arthur is a very experienced and accomplished accountant with over 20 years of diverse Commercial and Strategic Finance experience and leadership across various industries, multinationals and SMEs. Arthur enjoys golf, tennis, and football, he lives in Wimbledon with his family.

Anne Sykes

Trustee

Anne is a retired GP who has worked in Forest Hill for 25 years.

Natasha Ratter

Trustee

Natasha works closely with environmental groups, supporting them with their communications, fundraising and connectivity. She has over a decade of experience in the philanthropy sector – currently with the Environmental Funders Network – and has a particular passion for projects that re-connect people to nature. Natasha loves to get out in the garden (a reminder to slow down and find joy) and travelling to Uganda where her mother comes from and where she spent her early years.

Laura Saksena

Trustee

Laura has worked in the charity sector since 2012 on management and delivery of community mental health and dementia projects. She is currently Head of Services (Bromley) at BLG Mind. Laura has a strong interest in the link between physical and mental health and the positive impact engagement with the natural world has on individual wellbeing.
