Our Trustees

We currently have two vacancies on the board of trustees. 

Julia Brandreth

Chair of Trustees

Julia is a local resident and an experienced trustee. She is currently a market trader in Greenwich, specialising in vintage goods and also volunteers for local organisations. She was previously Head of Communications at the National Union of Teachers, with prior roles in TUC affiliates and as a community organiser.

Fran Bristow

Deputy Chair

Fran Bristow recently retired after 30 years working as a nurse and as a manager within NHS mental health services in South London.

Graeme Thomson

Deputy Chair & Company Secretary

Graeme has lived locally for almost 40 years and has a keen interest in gardening & mental well-being. He has been a director of public and private companies worldwide for over 30 years as Chief Executive, Finance Director, Company Secretary and as a Non-Executive.

Jon Sherman


Jon is a Director in the Civil Service, with many years’ experience in senior leadership and policy roles. Jon has lived in Sydenham with his family for over 20 years.

Kehinde Adeogun


Kehinde has lived locally for over 35 years. She has been involved as a trustee for a number of Black and LGBT+ charities in the past and is currently employed part time as a solicitor for a trade union.

Sir Steve Bullock


Steve was the elected Mayor of Lewisham for 16 years before retiring in 2018. He now works part time as the chair of a housing organisation in South West London and supports local groups through his work as a Deputy Lieutenant.

Maria Devereaux


Founding Director and Board member of Local Greens, a local not for profit veg bag scheme. Currently part time at Sustain, the alliance for sustainable food and farming, managing a project called Growing Health, which focuses on the health and wellbeing benefits of food growing and linking with the health service. Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) practitioner for Stepping Stones, a charity for adults with learning disabilities and the Albany Theatre, Deptford Green dyslexia group, whilst studying for a Diploma in STH at Coventry University.

Jullen Gordon


Jullen has been a local resident for many decades and is a former co-worker and current volunteer at the Garden. Having had a varied career, she has been a manager working for people with disabilities to access funding and work opportunities over recent years. She is also a very keen gardener.

Arthur Ngoka


Arthur is a very experienced and accomplished accountant with over 20 years of diverse Commercial and Strategic Finance experience and leadership across various industries, multinationals and SMEs. Arthur enjoys golf, tennis, and football, he lives in Wimbledon with his family.

Anne Sykes


Anne is a retired GP who has worked in Forest Hill for 25 years.
