A project for people who identify as having African or Caribbean heritage. The African and Caribbean Project aims to help people to improve their mental health, build supportive relationships with peers and facilitate personal growth and community.
Project sessions are 2 hours long for up to 12 co-worker. Based in our nature reserve people take part in weekly activity including growing plants and food, Art and Craft and cooking.
Sessions are led by Project staff and volunteers. Co-workers are offered a 12-month placements on the programme and are able to move on to other projects and clubs at Sydenham Garden once placement ends. Co-workers will have input on group activities and will experience full and varied sessions while on their placement.
