Many thanks to the team from London Stock Exchange Group who joined us (on what was the hottest day of the year at that point) at the Resource Centre a few weeks ago for a Corporate Team Building day.
Despite the heat, the team took on a variety of tasks around the gardens and nature reserve including:
- An annual deep clean of the greenhouse (inside and outside).
- Building a new timber compost bag store.
- Clearing rubbish; building materials etc from around the site and filling a large skip.
- Clearing & widening a number of paths within the nature reserve.
- Constructing a number of birdboxes for use in the nature reserve.
The work carried out is a huge benefit to the gardens and nature reserve and our Garden and Sow & Grow projects in particular. Given the nature of the tasks undertaken Garden and Sow & Grow sessions would not have been able to take on such work.
Thanks also goes to Community Southwark who arranged for the team to join us and take on the tasks. Community Southwark have supported Sydenham Garden over several years, arranging numerous corporate teams to work at either at our De Frene Market Garden site or at the Resource Centre as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.
