In Memoriam Giving

Giving to Sydenham Garden in memory of a loved one is a powerful way to celebrate their values, support others, and help our gardens to continue to bring healing to people facing mental or physical health challenges.

One option is to ask invitees to the funeral to consider making a donation in lieu of flowers.

It is possible to set up a dedicated page for online donations in memory of your loved one if you wish.  Do let us know if you need help to do this – we’d be very happy to assist.

You can include wording in funeral notices or orders of service such as:

“Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Sydenham Garden to help people facing mental health challenges or dementia find strength through nature, creativity, and community.”

You then need to give people this link to donate www.totalgiving.com/donate/sydenham-garden

Or use the link to the dedicated tribute page in memory of your loved one.

Not everyone likes giving online so it is also good to also ask the funeral directors if they would be willing to forward donations made as cheques or cash at the funeral itself.

If you wish, we can also include your loved one’s name in our Book of Remembrance held at Sydenham Garden itself. Family and friends of the person who have died are always welcome to visit Sydenham Garden and enjoy the peace to be found here.
