Last Saturday saw around 800 visitors join us at our annual Spring Fair. Visitors were able to enjoy the gardens and nature reserve in full bloom on what was a glorious warm and sunny spring day. A massive thank you to everyone who came along and who generously spent over £4400 on the various Sydenham Garden stalls including: the plant sale (always very popular), art & craft items made in various project sessions as well as delicious homemade cakes. There were also craft activities and nature trail for children in the meadow. Visitors could also enjoy some lovely vegetarian food prepared by Plateful Cafe
As always, all money raised goes towards our work helping local people attending our projects.
Local residents were also able to come and talk to local organisations including:
- The Sydenham Society
- Positive Ageing Council
- Therapy 4 Healing
- Forest Hill Bowling Club
- Imago
- Young Lewisham Project
James from the Young Lewisham Project ran a graffiti art workshop in the front courtyard and kindly donated the finished artwork to us.
Thanks also go to the many Sydenham Garden co-workers and volunteers who worked tirelessly making items for sale; baking cakes; setting up the event; running stalls and facilitating activities. Without their help and support we wouldn’t be able to put on such events.
