For the fourth year running, we welcomed a team from Colfe’s School to Sydenham Garden as part of the Colfe’s and Brun Bear Community Day.
The Community Day sees sixth form students along with members of staff from Colfe’s volunteer with local community organisations across Lewisham. For us, it was a pleasure to welcome students and staff to our De Frene Market Garden site.
The team took on the much needed task of cleaning our very large greenhouse inside and out. The day was one of the hottest of the year so far, but that didn’t deter them, they were very well organised and their enthusiasm and commitment was great to see.
Many thanks to all the team for your effort on the day – you did an amazing job, well done.
Thanks also goes to Zoe Kendrick & Cécile Davies at Colfe’s and to Edwin Lampert of The Brun Bear Foundation for arranging the team’s visit. We look forward to to taking part in the Community Day once again in 2027.
